BATHROOM TV'S

How can I connect the bathroom TV?

ProofVision bathroom TVs are supplied with a 230v IEC cable and a 12v DC transformer, the total length is approximately 1.8 meters.

There are 2 ways to connect the bathroom TV to the power:

Existing socket:
You can connect the 230v IEC cable to a 3-pin socket.
This should be outside of the bathroom, so it is recommended that the outlet be located in an attic or another room for access.

Lighting circuit:
The plug can be removed and wired into the lighting circuit.
We recommend that all electrical work is carried out by a qualified electrician or competent installer with electrical knowledge.

Can I extend the power cord?

Up to 2 meters extension (19"-27" only):

A DC extension cord is available for the 19-27 inch models. This goes between the transformer and the TV.
We recommend not to make a DC extension longer than 2 meters to avoid a power shortage to the TV.

More than 2 meters extension or 32"-43":

A longer 230v power cord ensures that the required power reaches the screen.

What makes a ProofVision bathroom TV suitable for a bathroom?

There are several aspects that make a ProofVision bathroom TV suitable for a bathroom.

Waterproof:
ProofVision bathroom TVs are designed as a completely sealed unit with no entry point for water or moisture.
They are tested and certified to the IP65 waterproof standard and are suitable for installation in bathroom zones 1, 2 and 3, meaning they can be installed in a shower cubicle or next to a bath.

Anti-condensation:
The TVs use a heated screen behind the front glass layer which is used to prevent condensation or fog from forming between the LCD panel and the glass, or on top of the glass.

Splashproof remote control:
The remote controls supplied with the TVs are specially designed to withstand moisture and minor water splashes.

Is the mirrored TV harder to see than the black or white one?

There is a very slight performance drop-off with the mirror finish compared to the black or white models when not positioned directly in front of natural light (such as a window), but visibility of the LCD screen is still very good.

When the TV is installed directly facing natural light, the visibility on the mirror will naturally decrease compared to the black or white finish, which are made of clear glass.

Where can I install my bathroom TV?

ProofVision Bathroom TVs are designed, tested and manufactured to an Ingress Protection rating of IP65 and operate from a low voltage 12v DC power input.

This means our bathroom TVs can be installed in zone 1 or higher, meaning they can be installed at the side/end of a bath or within a shower cubicle.

Can I mount my bathroom TV on the wall?

ProofVision Bathroom TVs cannot be mounted on top of an existing wall; they are only designed to be recessed into a wall recess.

Neither the TV nor the back have the necessary VESA holes to attach a wall bracket.

Mounting a TV on top of the wall using the back may void the warranty.

Do your bathroom TVs have built-in speakers?

ProofVision TVs do have built-in speakers, so external speakers are not essential to get sound out of the TV.

They are a pair of hidden 5w vibration speakers, so the sound comes through the glass screen on the front. This solution is ideal because it gives the user clear sound without any possible entry point for water or moisture.

What happens if I damage my bathroom TV?

ProofVision TVs are manufactured with a 5mm thick glass front, meaning that although they are strong, they must be handled with care at all times to avoid the risk of damage.

In the event of accidental damage to a TV, we are unable to replace or repair it free of charge under the terms and conditions of the warranty, however Relax View has its own repair/service centre and can offer a dedicated repair service at a fraction of the cost of a new TV replacement.

OUTSIDE TVS

Can I install a ProofVision outdoor TV near a pool?

ProofVision outdoor TVs are waterproof and are designed to be installed and used in areas where water and moisture are a problem.

Swimming areas have stricter regulations for installing electrical equipment, so it is important that the guidelines below are followed when installing a ProofVision outdoor TV at a pool.

Swimming zones:
Below is a diagram showing the dimensions of the swimming zones.

Installing a ProofVision TV:
ProofVision TVs have a minimum IPX5 rating, meaning they are protected against water jets and use a 230v power input.
According to swimming pool electrical regulations, our TVs must be installed in zone 2, which means at least 2 metres from the edge of the pool.
